Catchment management inquiry seeks views of murray-darling basin community

The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Environment and Heritage will hold a public hearing for its inquiry into catchment management this Wednesday, 13 October in Canberra.

The Community Advisory Committee to the Murray-Darling Basin Ministerial Council will be giving evidence at the hearing.

The issues covered by the catchment management inquiry include the value of a catchment approach to environmental management, best practice methods of achieving catchment health and environmental sustainability, and the role of governments, the private sector and the community in catchment management.

The public hearing will commence at 11:10am, in Committee Room 1 R 3, Parliament House, Canberra. More details of the hearing program.
