During 1998, the Committee made the following special statements to the Senate.

Disallowable Instruments and Parliamentary Propriety (tabled 7 April 1998)
Provisions in legislative instruments which may have been more appropriate for inclusion in an Act (tabled 30 June 1998)
Scrutiny of Great Barrier Reef Zoning Plans (tabled 30 June 1998)
Statement on the work of the Standing Committee on Regulations and Ordinances during the Autumn and Winter sittings 1998 (tabled 1 July 1998)
Statement on the first meeting of the Committee of the 39th Parliament (tabled 3 December 1998)
Statement on work of the Committee during the Spring Sittings 1998 (tabled 9 December 1998)
