ROLE OF THE COMMONWEALTH IN THE AUSTRALIAN RAIL INDUSTRY MAY 1997
I find the report helpful in both its analysis and its
recommendations, and support most of these.
However, I am of the opinion that the available evidence of the
Committee, and from the Brew Report to the Government, is insufficient to arrive at final
recommendations which will determine the rail industry of the future.
Accordingly, the Australian Democrats will be pursuing further
recommendations, solutions and suggestions in the debates on the enabling legislation.
