PREFACE
This report provides an overview and analysis of the legal, economic,
and social issues associated with the investment of superannuation savings.
As such it represents an audit of some of the current market-place trends
and policy developments in the area of superannuation investment.
Underlying its analysis was the Committee's recognition that the primary
purpose of superannuation is to provide retirement income. The Committee
is mindful that any changes to the superannuation system must reflect
this fundamental principle.
