Dear Mr President

Inquiry into all aspects of higher education and skills training to support future demand in agriculture and agribusiness in Australia

Interim report

Pursuant to Senate Standing Order 38(7), I present to you the interim report of the Senate Education, Employment and Workplace Relations Committee on its inquiry into all aspects of higher education and skills training to support future demand in agriculture and agribusiness in Australia.

On 19 September 2011 the Senate referred the inquiry to the Education, Employment and Workplace Relations References Committee for inquiry and report by 1 March 2012. The reporting date was subsequently extended to 8 June 2012.

The Committee is still considering the evidence it received, and requires additional time to complete its inquiry. The Committee anticipates that it will present its final report no later than 21 June 2012.
