Inquiry into the Occupational Health and Safety (Commonwealth Employment) Amendment (Promoting Safer Workplaces) Bill 2005

On 16 March 2005,  the Senate referred to this committee an inquiry into the Occupational Health and Safety (Commonwealth Employment) Amendment (Promoting Safer Workplaces) Bill 2005 for report by 10 May.

This proposed amendment will have the effect of excluding Commonwealth employees from the application of ACT laws on industrial manslaughter, and any similar laws that may be passed in future by any state or territory. As the committee expects to report in May 2005, submissions are due by
22 April 2005.
