Report on the Provisions of the Australian Technical Colleges (Flexibility in Achieving Australia's Skills Needs) Amendment Bill (No.2) 2006

The provisions of this bill was referred to the committee by the Senate on 7 December 2006, for report by 20 February 2007.

The committee advertised this inquiry, along with others referred at the same time. The only submission received was from the Department of Education, Science and Training.

The bill appropriates increased funding for the establishment of technical colleges provided for under the principal Act, commencing this financial year and continuing through 2009-10. The increase in appropriation amounts to $112.6 million.

The committee recommends that the bill proceed.
