COMMITTEE TAKES EVIDENCE ON CATCHMENT MANAGEMENT IN QUEENSLAND

The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Environment and Heritage will hold a public hearing for its inquiry into catchment management next Tuesday, 16 November, in Brisbane.

While in Queensland the committee will also be visiting the Mary River catchment for discussions and inspections with a local catchment coordinating committee and landcare groups.

At the public hearing the committee will be hearing from representatives of the Queensland Government, the Queensland Murray Darling Association, the Fertilizer Industry Federation of Australia, the Pine Rivers Shire Council and Brisbane City Council, and Dr Bruce Hooper, an academic from the University of Queensland.

The public hearing will commence at 10.30 a.m. at the Commonwealth Government Offices, Level 36 Waterfront Place, 1Eagle St, Brisbane. More details of the hearing program.
