Inquiry into Workforce Australia Employment Services

On 2 August 2022, the House Select Committee on Workforce Australia Employment Services was established to inquire into and report on matters related to Workforce Australia Employment Services as per the resolution of appointment.

On 16 September 2022, the Committee resolved to include pre-employment and complementary programs within the scope of its inquiry, and to specifically consider the role of ParentsNext in providing early intervention services to parents and carers of young children as part of the employment services system.

The Committee will inquire into matters related to Workforce Australia and the employment services system more broadly as per the Committee’s Terms of Reference and report no later than 29 September 2023.

On 10 May 2023 the House resolved that the Committee will report no later than 30 November 2023.

The Committee tabled its final report on 30 November 2023.

Consideration of ParentsNext

The Committee called for submissions on the ParentsNext program as the first major component of its inquiry into employment services in Australia on 14 October 2022.

Submissions related to ParentsNext closed 30 November 2022.

The Committee presented its recommendations on ParentsNext in an interim report, tabled on 1 March 2023.

Consideration of broader Workforce Australia employment services system, including complementary programs

Submissions related to the broader Workforce Australia employment services system are requested by 17 March 2023.

The Committee published guidance material to assist individuals and organisation with their submissions on 5 December 2022.
