    Provides for the restructure of the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (including abolition of the positions of Disability Discrimination Commissioner, Race Discrimination Commissioner and Sex Discrimination Commissioner) and the Commission’s renaming as the Australian Human Rights Commission. Also provides for: greater focus on education, dissemination of information on human rights and assistance to business and the community; prior approval of, or notification to, the Attorney-General of proposed interventions in court proceedings by the Commission; removal of power to recommend payment of damages or compensation in certain circumstances; appointment of part-time complaints commissioners; abolition of the Community Relations Council and advisory councils; removal of powers of delegation from the
