Summary
Part of a package of 5 bills which rewrites the legislation currently providing for the administration of Australia’s offshore petroleum resources, the bill repeals the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1967, Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Fees Act 1994, Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Registration Fees) Act 1967 and Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Royalty) Act 1967; makes consequential amendments to 30 other Acts; and provides that the penalty in section 96 of the repealed Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1967 is taken to have never been enacted.
