Summary
Part of a package of 10 bills in relation to the establishment of the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), the bill amends the Telecommunications (Carrier Licence Charges) Act 1997 to: replace existing references to the Australian Communications Authority (ACA) with references to the ACMA; and repeal spent provisions. Also contains transitional provisions providing for: the continuing effect of certain determinations made by the ACA; and the inclusion in the ACMA’s costs for a financial year of the ACA’s costs for that financial year.
