Addresses technical problems with the Electoral and Referendum Amendment (Enrolment Integrity and Other Measures) Act 2004 by amending the: Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 and Referendum (Machinery Provisions) Act 1984 to prevent prisoners who are serving a sentence of 3 years or more from enrolling to vote; and Electoral and Referendum Amendment (Enrolment Integrity and Other Measures) Act 2004 to: repeal early close of rolls provisions for referenda; and clarify the commencement and cessation of name and address evidentiary requirements for enrolment and changes to enrolment details.
