  Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Act 1995

  to: replace the prohibition on advertising unclassified films and computer games with an industry based self-assessment scheme to allow for advertising subject to conditions to be set out in a legislative instrument; and amend the classification procedures for films that are compilations of episodes of a television series and require an application for classification of such a film to be accompanied by a report from an authorised assessor that complies with conditions set out in a legislative instrument.

  to increase the threshold for the 30 per cent marginal tax rate (from 1 July 2008) and phase-in a decrease to the 40 per cent marginal tax rate commencing 1 July 2009;

  to increase the maximum amount of low income tax offset; and

  Medicare Levy Act 1986

  to increase the income threshold that applies to taxpayers who are eligible for the senior Australians tax offset.

  Roche Products v National Drugs and Poisons Schedule Committee

  [2007] FCA 1352 (30 August 2007) by: providing that the Poisons Standard and its amendments are legislative instruments for the purposes of the

  Legislative Instruments Act 2003

  ; retrospectively reinstating certain amendments made to the Standard before the Roche decision; exempting the Standard from section 42 of the

  Legislative Instruments Act 2003

  relating to disallowance; and providing for ‘just terms’ compensation in the event that these measures could result in any acquisition of property.
