    Narcotic Drugs Act 1967
    to: give effect to certain of Australia’s obligations under the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, 1961 (the Single Convention); establish licensing and permit schemes for the cultivation and production of cannabis and cannabis resin for medicinal and scientific purposes, and for the manufacture of narcotic drugs covered by the Single Convention; provide for monitoring, inspection and enforcement powers for authorised inspectors and for the secretary to give directions to licence holders and former licence holders; and enable the secretary to authorise a state or territory government agency to undertake cultivation and production of cannabis and manufacture of medicinal cannabis products; and the

    to make a consequential amendment.

    Introduced with the Australian Immunisation Register (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Bill 2015, the bill establishes the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register to collect and record vaccinations given to individuals under the age of 20 years and provides for: the type of information that may be collected for the purposes of the register; the disclosure and confidentiality of information; and the Commonwealth to make payments to recognised vaccination providers when they notify the register of a vaccination.

    to implement the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) Access and Sustainability package by: applying a one-off five per cent statutory price reduction for single brand medicines; changing price disclosure arrangements for multiple-brand medicines; applying flow-on price disclosure reductions from component drugs to multiple-brand combination medicines; changing membership arrangements for the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee; enabling approved pharmacists to discount patient co-payments by a maximum of $1 for each PBS supply on a prescription; extending safety net early supply rules; and extending the pharmacy location rules and the role of the Australian Community Pharmacy Authority to 30 June 2020. Also makes technical amendments.
