Summary

Amends the

Quarantine Act 1908
in relation to: health clearances for incoming overseas vessels; independent medical assessments; vector monitoring and control activities; creation of vector control offence and penalty provisions; insertion and repeal of certain definitions; removal of certain outdated references; clarification that a person can be quarantined on the basis of a quarantine officer’s reasonable suspicion of infection or exposure; and provision that persons released under quarantine surveillance cannot be apprehended. Also contains savings and application provisions.
