Summary
Amends the
Lands Acquisition Act 1989
to provide that the minister may not make a declaration of acquisition by compulsory process unless the acquisition of the interest is for the direct benefit of the Australian public, or to provide necessary services to members of the Australian public which would not be provided if the acquisition did not occur.
