Summary

Amends: the

Judges’ Pensions Act 1968
to enable members of the Judges’ Pensions Scheme to request that they be paid a lump sum amount from the scheme to meet their Division 293 tax liability; the
Parliamentary Contributory Superannuation Act 1948
to: ensure that the calculation of any lump sum superannuation guarantee safety-net benefit meets the minimum superannuation guarantee requirements; enable the Parliamentary Retiring Allowances Trust to pass a resolution without a meeting; and enable an actuary other than the Australian Government Actuary to provide advice in relation to the Parliamentary Contributory Superannuation Scheme; five Acts to increase the age from which an eligible child of a deceased superannuation scheme member must be in full time education and remove the requirement for an eligible child to not be ordinarily in employment; the
Judges and Governors-General Legislation Amendment (Family Law) Act 2012
to correct a misdescribed reference; and the
Governance of Australian Government Superannuation Schemes Act 2011
to reduce the size of the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation Board from 11 to 9 directors.
