Summary

Merges the functions of the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) with the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) by: amending the

Australian Crime Commission Act 2002
to enable the ACIC to perform the AIC’s functions, including carrying out, sharing and publishing of criminology research, and carrying out commissioned research; and repealing the
Criminology Research Act 1971
to abolish the AIC as a statutory agency.
