Summary

Amends the:

Navigation Act 2012
to: ensure that the definition of ‘dangerous goods’ includes goods which are characterised in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code; and correct minor drafting errors;
Protection of the Sea (Civil Liability) Act 1981
and
Protection of the Sea (Civil Liability for Bunker Oil Pollution Damage) Act 2008
to enable regulatory action to be taken against non-compliant vessel operators; and
Protection of the Sea (Prevention of Pollution from Ships) Act 1983
to prevent heavy grade oil being carried as ballast in Antarctic waters.
