Summary

Amends the:

to: enable the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) to provide technical assistance to law enforcement agencies in relation to telecommunications interception warrants; require carriers and certain carriage service providers to inform the Communications Access Co-ordinator of proposed changes to telecommunications services, networks, systems or devices that could adversely affect the ability to conduct interception; enable authorised police officers to disclose telecommunications data when trying to locate missing persons; enable enforcement agencies to apply for a stored communications warrant to access stored communications of a victim of a serious contravention, without the person’s consent; permit notification of an interception warrant to be made to a representative of a carrier; and make minor and technical amendments; and , and to enable ASIO, the Australian Secret Intelligence Service, the Defence Signals Directorate and the Defence Imagery and Geospatial Organisation to work cooperatively.
