Summary
Amends the:
Income Tax Assessment Act 1997
,
Social Security Act 1991
,
Social Security (Administration) Act 1999
and
Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986
to establish the utilities allowance and the seniors concession allowance;
Social Security Act 1991
to increase the number of hours that carers may spend in work, training or study, without losing qualification for carer payment;
A New Tax System (Family Assistance) Act 1999
and
A New Tax System (Family Assistance) (Administration) Act 1999
to provide eligible grandparents with access to child care benefit for up to 50 hours of approved child care a week; and
Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986
to increase bereavement payments in respect of persons receiving above general rate disability pension. Also contains application and transitional provisions.
