Summary

Amends the

Civil Aviation Act 1988
to: abolish the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Board and retain CASA as an independent statutory authority under ministerial control; and introduce new enforcement measures; and the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988: to repeal CASA’s power to immediately suspend an authorisation in certain cases; and in relation to CASA’s power to cancel an authorisation. Also contains application and savings provisions.
