LETTER OF TRANSMITTAL
I have pleasure in submitting the annual report of the Department of the Parliamentary Reporting Staff for the year ending 30 June 2003. Section 65(1)(c) of the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 requires that a report concerning the operation of the department for the year ending 30 June be prepared and that the respective Presiding Officer present the report to the Senate and the House of Representatives as soon as practicable after 30 June each year.
This will be the last annual report of the department, which will cease to exist on 31 January 2004.
