Information about the Inquiry

On 13 May 2010 the Senate referred the Family Assistance Legislation Amendment (Child Care Budget Measures) Bill 2010 for inquiry and report.

As announced in the budget, the bill makes amendments to the Family Assistance Act to  cap the annual Child Care Rebate at $7,500 for the next four years starting from 1 July 2010.

Submissions should be received by 04 June 2010. The reporting date is 15 June 2010.

The Committee is seeking written submissions from interested individuals and organisations preferably in electronic form submitted online or sent by email to eewr.sen@aph.gov.au as an attached Adobe PDF or MS Word format document. The email must include full postal address and contact details.
