On 30 March 2017, the Senate referred an inquiry into the Civil Law and Justice Legislation Amendment Bill 2017 to the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 10 May 2017.

The closing date for submissions is 13 April 2017.
