Flag of Convenience shipping in Australia

INTERIM REPORT

Dear Mr President

An inquiry into the increasing use of so-called Flag of Convenience shipping in Australia was referred to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee by the Senate on 18 June 2015, for inquiry and report by the first sitting day of 2016 (2 February  2016).

The Committee has received 25 submissions, and held a public hearing in Canberra on 4 December 2015.

The Committee wishes to extend this reporting date to 25 February 2016, to allow it to fully consider the evidence and to conclude its deliberations.
