Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2019 [Provisions]

On 14 November 2019 the Senate referred the provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2019 to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 10 March 2020.

The deadline for submissions to the inquiry is 13 December 2019.

About this inquiry

The bill would amend a number of Acts to strengthen Australia’s capability to combat money laundering and financing of terrorism. The bill would also create a new offence under the Australian Federal Police Act 1979 of dishonestly representing conferral of police awards.
