  • JCPAA public hearings for Defence Major Projects Report, Commonwealth Financial Statements, and IT procurement

    The Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit will be holding public hearings for its inquiries into 2022–23 Defence Major Projects Report, Commonwealth Financial Statements 2022–23, the failed visa privatisation process and the implementation of other public sector IT procurements and projects.

  • Happy Friday: Kicking off public hearings for two Audit Committee inquiries - Commonwealth Financial Statements and Failed Visa Privatisation

    About this inquiry

    On 29 February 2024, the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit adopted an inquiry into the Defence Major Projects Report (MPR) 2022-23, including any matters contained and associated with Auditor-General Report No. 14 2023–24: 2022–23 Major Projects Report. This review will also make specific consideration of the scope and guidelines which underlie the MPR, and assess whether the MPR process continues to provide appropriate transparency and accountability to the Parliament in relation to Defence's capability acquisition expenditure and remains fit for purpose into the future.
