Submissions 

When are submissions due? 

The due date for submissions was 14 October 2022.

Where can I find the Bills relevant to this inquiry?

How will I know when my submission has been considered by the Committee?

Once the Committee has made a decision about accepting and publishing your submission, you will receive a formal acknowledgement advising you of the Committee’s decision.

When will my submission be published? 

Submissions will be published on the Committee’s webpage progressively subject to Committee decisions.  

What are the inquiry’s terms of reference?

The terms of reference are the provisions of the Bills.

Public hearings 

When are the public hearings? 

Public hearings are planned on 18, 19, 20 and 21 October 2022 with an expected option for remote participation by witnesses. Please continue to monitor this website for any updates or other details regarding general arrangements for public hearings. If the Committee wishes to invite you to give evidence at a public hearing, you will be contacted.

I want to appear before the Committee at a public hearing to give evidence. Who chooses the witnesses for public hearings? 

It is a Committee decision on when and where to hold public hearings and who to invite to appear at a public hearing. You can email the Committee Secretariat to express your interest in appearing at a public hearing or indicate your interest in your submission for the Committee’s consideration. 

How will I know if I have been invited to appear at a public hearing? 

The Committee Secretariat will contact you subject to directions from the Committee.  

How do I know what is being discussed at a public hearing? 

Hansard transcripts of public hearings will be made available on the Committee’s website. 

Public hearings may be broadcast online. A link to the hearing will be available on the day. 

Questions from hearing and speech impaired people should be directed to the Parliament House TTY number on 02 6277 7799.

Reporting

When will the Committee report on its findings?

The Committee is due to report on or before 10 November 2022.

Once the report is tabled, you can access the report on the Committee’s website.

About this committee

The Committee was established on 28 September 2022 to inquire into and report on the provisions of the National Anti-Corruption Commission Bill 2022 and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Bill 2022.
