Inquiry into modernising Australia's electricity grid

The Standing Committee on the Environment and Energy has resolved to inquire into the 2015-16 annual report of the Department of the Environment and Energy. Specifically, the Committee’s inquiry is to focus on modernising Australia’s electricity grid.

The Committee is using an online questionnaire to gather information about how Australian individuals, families, and businesses currently interact with the electricity system, and about their expectations of a modern electricity grid. The questionnaire can be accessed on this webpage.

The Committee is accepting written submissions and will be conducting public hearings and site inspections to gather evidence from stakeholders.

Interested submitters might wish to read the inquiry’s discussion paper, which has been prepared by the Committee to provide background to the inquiry, outline the matters about which the Committee is seeking comment and information, and assist individuals and organisations to participate in the inquiry. The discussion paper can be accessed on this webpage.

The Committee is accepting written submissions, addressing one or more of the terms of reference, to be received by Friday, 28 April 2017.
