The Department of the House of Representatives corporate plan is the department’s principal planning document. The corporate plan describes the purpose of the department, how it goes about achieving that purpose, and how it assesses whether it is doing a good job. The structure of the plan reflects specific requirements of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 that apply to all Commonwealth departments and agencies.

The plan covers the financial year in which it is published (2015-16) and the following three financial years (2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19). The department is required to publish an updated plan by 31 August each year.
