Government and private members’ business and business of the House (Chamber and Federation Chamber), 2012 to 2016

The graph shows the amount of time devoted by the House, as a percentage of total sitting time, to consideration of government business, private members’ business and House business in the calendar years from 2012 to 2016.

In 2012, 49.6% of the House’s time was devoted to consideration of government business, 32.5% to private members’ business and 17.8% to House business. In 2013, 48.7% of the House’s time was devoted to consideration of government business, 31.4% to private members’ business and 19.8% to House business.

In 2014, 52.4% of the House’s time was devoted to consideration of government business, 31.5% to private members’ business and 16.1% to House business. In 2015, 49.9% of the House’s time was devoted to consideration of government business, 33.4% to private members’ business and 16.7% to House business.

In 2016, 44.8% of the House’s time was devoted to consideration of government business, 36.2% to private members’ business and 19.1% to House business.
