COVID-19 alert for Australian Parliament House

Wednesday, 22 December 2021 in COVID-19

A parliamentary service department staff member has tested positive to COVID-19.

The case is being investigated by ACT Health, which is being assisted by the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS).

The Presiding Officers have been made aware of the case.

ACT Health is working to identify possible close contacts and exposure locations at Parliament House, and elsewhere in the ACT. DPS is taking advice from ACT Health on areas of the building that may require additional cleaning as a result of this positive case.

Parliament House will remain open. Further communications will be issued should building settings be required to change.

In the meantime, if you have not been advised that you are a close contact, no action is required at this time. Please be vigilant for any COVID-19 symptoms and get tested, even if only mild symptoms appear.

DPS will notify building occupants of any action deemed necessary by ACT Health and you are encouraged to monitor ACT exposure locations.
