Building operations at Parliament House from 19 February

With Parliament House re-opening to visitors from Saturday 19 February 2022, the Presiding Officers have determined that the building will align with settings applicable in the ACT.

These settings will be monitored and reviewed prior to the next sitting period.

The arrangements effective from 19 February:

  • Parliament House will be open to the public
  • Parliament shop will be open
  • Inside and outside events will be permissible
  • Sponsored passholder restrictions are lifted and all visitors allowed in to conduct their business.
  • Face masks will remain mandatory indoors, especially when in or travelling through communal areas of the building
  • Staff can work from the building where it suits employers and employees, and in accordance with ACT Health advice. 

Australian Parliament House operations

  • Limit of one person per 2sqm limit indoors where applicable in the building
  • Tables and chairs at catering outlets
  • Queen’s Terrace Café open 
  • Members’ and Guests Dining re-open
  • Keep cups accepted
  • All DPS operated food outlets will remain cashless
  • Restrictions on numbers at Health and Recreation Centre, courts and playing fields aligned with ACT Government restrictions (2sqm per person once over 25 people in centre)

Important safeguards

All building occupants:

  • must not attend the building if you are feeling unwell
  • must continue to follow strict COVID-safe hygiene and physical distancing requirements
  • must use the masks and sanitiser that are available throughout the building
  • must check-in using the Check in CBR app when visiting the Childcare Centre, and are encouraged to check in where QR codes are placed at other locations within Parliament house, following changes to ACT Government requirements
