Argentinian Vice President visits parliament

The Parliament of Australia has this week played host to Argentinian Vice President Ms Gabriela Michetti, who visited Australia this week as part of a delegation from her country.

Ms Michetti met with several members of the Australian Parliament, including Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Opposition Leader Bill Shorten and the Parliament’s Presiding Officers – President of the Senate Stephen Parry and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tony Smith.

As part of her visit to Canberra, Ms Michetti also attended Question Time in both houses of parliament, as well as visiting the High Court of Australia and the Australian War Memorial.

The Argentinian delegation also spent time in Sydney, where the visited the New South Wales Parliament, attended a reception in her honour at the Billich Art Gallery and New South Wales’ Government House, where the met with New South Wales Governor David Hurley.
