Chapter 16 - Committees
Appointment and membership of committees
Standing committees are
appointed at the beginning of each Parliament pursuant to standing orders. The life of a
Parliament is determined by a general election for the House of
Representatives, which usually also corresponds with a periodical election for
the Senate (see Chapter 4, Elections, and Chapter 7, Meetings of the Senate).
