Statement of Activities Administered on Behalf of Government
The major administered activities of the Department of the Senate are directed towards achieving the major outcome described in Note 1 to the financial statements. The major financial activities are the support for the Citizenship Visits Program for school children visiting Parliament House, support for the offices of the President of the Senate and the Deputy President of the Senate and payment of parliamentary salaries and allowances to senators and office-holders of the Senate. Details of these activities can be found in the Portfolio Budget Statements for the 2004-2005 financial year which have been tabled in Parliament.
