Pursuant to Senate Standing Order 38(7), I present to you an interim report of the Economics Legislation Committee in relation to the following bill:

• Tax Laws Amendment (Public Benefit Test) Bill 2010

The bill is a private senator's bill which was referred to the Committee on 13 May 2010 for report by 31 August 2010. As a result of the prorogation of the 42nd Parliament the Committee requires additional time to consider the evidence presented during the course of the inquiry and intends to present its final report by Tuesday 7 September 2010.
