Dear Mr President

Pursuant to Senate Standing Order 38(7), I present to you an interim report of the Economics References Committee in relation to the Committee's inquiry into the role of liquidators and administrators in Australia.

The reference was referred to the committee on 25 November 2009 for report by 31 August 2010. As a result of the prorogation of the 42nd Parliament the Committee requires additional time to consider the evidence presented during the course of the inquiry and intends to present its final report by Tuesday 14 September 2010.
