Inquiry into sustainable management by the Commonwealth of water resources

INTERIM REPORT

On 20 August 2009 the Senate referred an inquiry into sustainable management by the Commonwealth of water resources to the Environment, Communications and the Arts References Committee for inquiry and report by 29 November 2009. The Senate later extended the reporting date to 30 July 2010.

The committee received 32 submissions and held hearings on 15 December 2009, 18 February 2010 and 21 June 2010.

Due to the prorogation of the 42nd parliament and the need to thoroughly consider the evidence it has received to date, the committee intends to table its final report as soon as practicable.
