This Resource Guide provides links to a selection of websites and electronic resources to meet the information needs of senators and members of the Australian Parliament.

Key Site

• The Australian Sports Commission administers and funds sports in Australia on behalf of the Commonwealth Government.  It operates under the provisions of the Australian Sports Commission Act 1989.  Its website hosts thousands of pages of information on Australian sport, including many Australian national sporting organisations and related sporting bodies. Directories, event calendars, athlete profiles, international and national contacts, and sports topic pages are also available.

Commonwealth Government Sites

• The Sport page of the Department of Health and Ageing.
• The Australian Institute of Sport is the Commonwealth's elite sports training and development institution.
• The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) administers drug-testing programs in Australia according to the terms of the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority Act 2006 and the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority Regulations 2006.
• Australian Sports Foundation was established by the Commonwealth Government to raise funds to assist schools and community groups to develop sport.

Australian Non-Government Bodies

• The Confederation of Australian Sport (previously Sport Industry Australia) represents Australian sports industries and organisations.
• The Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation is a national professional association that represents people who work in the areas of Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport, Dance, Community Fitness or Movement Sciences.
• Sports Medicine Australia is Australia's peak national umbrella body for sports medicine and sports science.
• The Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZSLA) facilitates information and resources regarding sports and the law.

Olympic and Other Games

• Olympic Games is a comprehensive directory of Olympic sites compiled by the Australian Sports Commission.
• Sydney 2000 Games Info is an archive of sites from the Sydney Olympics. The National Library also has an archive of Sydney Olympics sites.
• Commonwealth Games is another Australian Sports Commission directory.
