    The States

  • WA: Department of Commerce - Labour Relations
  • New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania effected referrals of their private sector industrial relations systems to the Commonwealth in 2009.
  • The Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory have traditionally come under the federal jurisdiction.
  • Depending on the state, state public sector agencies and local government councils and shires may continue to come under the industrial jurisdiction of the particular state.
