Aviation and airports

  • Airservices Australia - government-owned corporation responsible for providing air traffic control management and related airside services to the aviation industry.
  • Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) - independent statutory body responsible for regulating aviation safety in Australia and thesafety of Australian aircraft overseas.
  • Jetstar - Qantas low-cost subsidiary focusing on flights to tourist centres domestically and internationally.
  • Qantas - main Australian domestic and international carrier.
  • Regional Express (Rex) - provides air services to regional centres in south-east Australia.
  • Tiger Airways - low-cost carrier which is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines.
  • Virgin Blue - established in 2000 as Australia's first low-cost carrier, to compete with Qantas.
  • V Australia - Virgin Blue's international counterpart and Australia's second international carrier.

Rail

  • Australian Railroad Group - subsidiary of Queensland Rail. Provides above-rail operation in NSW and WA
  • Australasian Railway Association - member-based association that represents the interests of the rail sector in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Australian Rail Track Corporation Ltd (ARTC) - wholly-owned Australian Government company whose main purpose is to provide access to train operators over that part of the interstate rail network that the company manages.
  • Countrylink - provides regional train services in NSW.
  • CityRail - provides passenger services in Sydney and nearby town centres.
  • Great Southern Railway - operates long-distance passenger trains.
  • Pacific National - Australia's largest private rail freight business.
  • Queensland Rail - state-owned vertically integrated. Provides freight and passenger services.
  • RailPage - contains a wide range of information on trains.
  • SCT Logistics - Australia's second largest private freight operator.
