Committee activities (reports)
The Committee usually meets twice each sitting week.
At its Tuesday meeting, the Committee primarily arranges the timetable and order for the next sitting Monday of the following business:
- committee and delegation business; and
- private Members' business:
- bills for presentation and debate; and
- motions to be moved and debated.
In addition, the Committee recommends private Members' bills and motions to be voted on. Voting on private Members' business has been taking place during the period of government business on Thursday mornings.
At its Wednesday meeting, the Committee primarily considers government bills for referral to committees.
The Committee meets at other times as necessary.
After presentation to the House, reports of the Committee are published to this website (see below) and in Hansard. The Committee's decisions in relation to committee and delegation business and private Members' business are published in the Notice Paper on the sitting Thursday before the Monday being considered. The Committee's determinations in relation to bills are reported on as soon as practicable. The Committee's decisions are reflected in individual business item listings on the Notice Paper. Further, the Notice Paper website includes private Members' notices received, but not otherwise published.
