On 1 December 2016, the following matter was referred to the Finance and Public Administration References Committee for inquiry and report by 24 February 2017:

The operation of the Administrative Arrangements Order, the effectiveness of the division and performance of responsibilities under it, and any other related matters.

Submission closing date is 18 January 2017. The reporting date is 24 February 2017. On 13 February 2017, the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 23 March 2017.
