Bollard
A post on a wharf for tethering mooring lines
Bunded fuel tank
Storage tanks used to store hazardous substances, and which contain a secondary containment tank
Cathodic protection
Protection of metal structures from corrosion under water
Concrete spalling
Water penetration causing concrete to peel, pop out or flake off
Cope point
Infrastructure that provides access to essential services such as fuel and electricity to berthed ships
Dolphin
A marine structure that extends above the water level and is not connected to shore
Fender
A bumper used to absorb the kinetic energy of a vessel berthing against a wharf or similar structure
Scour
A specific form of erosion, this refers to the removal of granular bed material in the vicinity of coastal structures by hydrodynamic forces
Sheet piling
A group of piles set close together to resist lateral pressure
Sullage
Waste water
